In July 2024, we realized that public swimmers needed their own club to save public swimming amenities when we continued to hear concerns about x club needs y thing. This is our club to advocate for the needs of public swimmers in Woodstock, Ontario.
The potential is limitless for the club at this point in time. Currently only advocacy is offered through the club. There is no programming offered through the Woodstock Public Swimmers Club at this time (maybe that will change in the future).
This club is for anyone who has or does or wants to swim in public swimming amenities in Woodstock, Ontario. Your public swimming use may include: swimming lessons, lane swim, Aquafit class, swim team, lifeguarding, public swimming, recreational use and more.
The public swimming amenities include :Southside Aquatic Center, the now permanently closed Lions Pool, soon-to-be-permanently-closed Spray and Play Wading Pool, the closed Woodstock YMCA pool, Vansittart Splashpad, Cowan Fields Splashpad on Devonshire Splashpad, Splashpad at Pittock, the soon-to-be Splashpad on Finkle St., and the currently unswimmable Pittock reservoir (due to poor water quality).
We want it to be known that the Woodstock Public Swimmers Club needs sufficient public swimming amenities in the City of Woodstock for its club members.
